The cube that decides everything was used 3000 years ago in today’s Iran, Iraq and Pakistan. Even ancient Vedic scriptures prove an independent invention of the cube in India. The Egyptians also liked to play with dice-like bones เว็บแทงบอล.
However, the biggest fans of dicing are unchallenged Germans. Of course, their contemporaries, the Romans and Greeks, threw the cube with great enthusiasm. For the Teutons, however, no effort was too high for the enjoyment of the game. Apart from all their belongings, they often lost their own freedom. When there was no capital left, they did not shy away from sitting down. At least that’s what the Roman Germanic expert Tacitus tells us.
The Roman people, however, were no less in the dice. As a result, the game was basically prohibited – at least officially. Secretly even Roman emperors resorted to the random generators of clay, metal or bone. Only in the Saturnalia, when moral and social customs were suppressed, could anyone, without a guilty conscience, spoil the house and the court. On these holidays, everything was wrong: slaves were allowed to act as gentlemen and players come out of their back rooms.
Middle Ages and modern times
The dice remained in the Middle Ages a perennial favorite, in the truest sense of the word. The moral guardians warned dice-players of purgatory they would inevitably come to. However, this was a strategy to keep the population at work. In gambling, too many serfs and peasants would dream of wealth and fortune, questioning their true purpose, noblemen and clerics of that time thought.
The rest of the story was followed by many bans on dice and gambling. In Italy, those who did not comply with the prohibitions could even be banished. One hundred miles should be kept away from Milan after being caught playing.
Occasionally quite new job profiles developed from the prohibitions. In the 18th and 19th centuries, there were in England the so-called “Würfelschlucker”. Their task was to swallow all the dice เว็บแทงบอล in a matter of seconds in the event of a raid by the police. About the risk in the destruction of evidence is not known. A strong stomach was probably a prerequisite for such a career.
Old and new games
As long as the cube accompanies humanity, it also invents new games to use it in ever new ways. Nevertheless, it is astonishing that many dice games เว็บแทงบอล with and without a board never went out of fashion.
An example is backgammon. Legend has it that the Greeks invented the prototype backgammon as a pastime during the siege of Troy. After all, the soldiers had to be kept in a good mood during the years of waiting. It has been proven that the Romans liked to play a kind of original backgammon. The famous King of the Crusades, Richard the Lionheart, forbade his simple soldiers to roll money. Backgammon was already so popular in England at the time that one should not forget the reconquest of the Holy Land.
